May Day 2022

May 01, 2022 at
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST
1000 Main Street East Hamilton, Ontario L8M 1N2

As you know workers in Ontario are planning a large International Workers’ Day celebration. It will take place on Sunday, May 1st – 4 weeks before the provincial election which we hope will herald a better time for Ontario and all its workers. There will be a large gathering at Queen’s Park and a number of hubs

elsewhere across the province.

The Oakville and District Labour Council is working with the Hamilton District Labour Council on the event at Gage Park which will occur from 1:00-4:00. The theme of the day in Hamilton is #WorkersAreThe Recovery.

It will be a family friendly event with music, use of the park and play area, a face painter, etc. Parking and washrooms are available at the park. Community groups are also invited to bring a table and materials if they are so inclined. Please let HDLC President Anthony Marco at amarco@rogers.com know if you plan to so.

It will be an opportunity for workers in all areas of our economy to commemorate International Workers’ Day, have conversations about issues that are of common interest, have some fun safely together after all this time apart and, hopefully, leave motivated to vote on June 2 to elect a worker friendly government.

We hope to see you there!
